The Landmark Trust’s cottage at Lock 31, now known as Lengthsman’s Cottage, is a snug barrel-roofed cottage, dating from c1812. It is a rare survivor of its type on the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal. It was built for the ‘lengthsman’ – who maintained the lock as well as the next stretch of canal. The cottage has a double bedroom and a twin bedroom to sleep four.
