Wilstone Wharf, Tring Road, Wilstone
Offside Water's Edge
This contemporary home is set in an exclusive development beside the Aylesbury Arm of the Grand Union canal beside Wilstone Bridge, on the site of a former wharf and lock keeper`s cottage. The wharf has had a number of uses over the years, playing host to a hay and straw dealer, a poultry farm, and a coal merchant. The development is on the edge of the Chiltern Hills near the Tring reservoirs, and is surrounded by delightful countryside and towpath walks.
The houses are very modern in style, but have a natural warmth thanks to the quality of the components, which include Siberian Larch and zinc effect materials. The front door is set under a small balcony, and leads into an entrance hall with a downstairs cloakroom. A door opens into a spacious living room to the rear with an open plan kitchen to the front. A huge four door glazed picture window gives splendid views over the canal.
Stairs rise from the entrance hall to the first floor landing. The master suite comprises a large master bedroom with glazed doors opening onto a fabulous balcony overlooking the canal, and a luxurious en-suite shower room. Bedrooms two and three are to the front, one of which benefits from a small balcony to the front. Finally there is a luxury first floor bathroom with a bath and separate shower.
To the rear there is a small garden area ideal for sitting out and enjoying the views and passing narrowboats. The gardens are on the offside, but they are fenced a few meters back from the water’s edge as this area is a lock landing. The lock is just on the other side of the bridge.
