Light House, Austcliffe Park, Cookley
Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal
Offside Water's Edge
The Light House is a gorgeous park home set on the banks of the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal in a peaceful rural holiday park for residents over the age of 50. It is adjacent to the tow path and enjoys amazing views of the canal and surrounding countryside. It has an 11 month occupancy condition, so you might want to spend a month out cruising on your narrowboat. There are lovely walks to enjoy along the towpath. The nearby village of Cookley has a good range of amenities including a doctors surgery with its own pharmacy, local shops and eateries. For more facilities, Kidderminster is only a short drive away.
The park is attractively landscaped and well looked after. There is a residents’ car park at the entrance, and from there the Light House, which is in the bottom left corner of the park, is approached on foot. It overlooks a meadow to the side of the park, with picnic benches for the use of residents. This well maintained and attractive area leads right down to the canalside, where established weeping willow trees overhang the canal.
From the pathways within the park, a gate opens into the plot. The Light House is a Stately Albion static, measuring 42ft by 12ft, about 20 years old, and in excellent order throughout. The front door leads into a hallway. This leads into a lovely open plan living space divided into kitchen, dining, and sitting areas. The sitting area has a bow window to the front, and sliding patio doors which open out to steps leading to the side patio. The dining area has a bow window to the front with lovely views of the meadow and canal. The kitchen area is a good size with a window to the side. The master bedroom is a double room with a bow window to the front enjoying the glorious views. Bedroom two is a single with a window to the rear. There is a well appointed shower room.
Surrounding the property is a delightful enclosed garden. A paved terrace wraps around the front and side of the property, with a low picket fence to make the most of the wonderful views of the canal and surrounding countryside. This area is perfect for relaxing or entertaining. To the rear of the property there is a lawn and a garden shed, with mature hedging providing privacy to this area. There is plenty of space to personalise the garden with planters and ornaments.
There are in-line private moorings along a solid bank adjacent to the property and the meadow. Enquiries should be made to the park manager if you wish to check availability. Please contact the agent for details of tenure, ground rent, and maintenance.
