Aldermans Green Road, Aldermans Green
Commercial and Land
This intriguing property has lots of space and huge potential for a variety of uses. It is on the towpath side of the Oxford Canal at its most northerly point, just before it joins the Coventry Canal at Hawkesbury Junction. It has lovely views and stands beside fields on one side, but do bear in mind that it is next to a bridge over a busy B road, and is very near to the M6. Of course, this is really helpful for commercial purposes, but a bit of a compromise for residential enjoyment, although you’ll love the fact that the commercial area and two of the bedrooms enjoy views over the canal.
The house sits on a large plot, and is approached via a driveway leading to a detached double garage. The driveway then sweeps around through the large lawned front garden, past several striking mature trees, to a substantial off road parking area suitable for many vehicles. The house is L-shaped, and is divided into distinct residential and commercial parts, each with their own entrance door.
To the left of the property a fenced paved courtyard area encloses the residential part of the building and separates it from the public area on the right. The front door opens directly into a large and welcoming kitchen, with two bright windows overlooking the front garden. This room leads on to a spacious living room with a bow window overlooking the front garden and a cosy fireplace.
Stairs rise from the living room to the first floor landing. The spacious master bedroom looks out over the front garden. Bedrooms two and three are both doubles, and both have a window overlooking the canal. Finally, there is a spacious modern bathroom.
The commercial area abutts directly onto the towpath and extends over two floors. It could be used as a shop, office, studio, or warehouse, or it could be converted into additional residential space. Downstairs there is a long open space with a separate kitchen at the far end, and a connecting door to the private house kitchen at the other. Stairs rise from the ground floor to a further spacious upstairs room. There are two windows overlooking the canal on both floors.
